Herndon Olympics
Dear Parents,
This is a long email!!
The Herndon Olympics is held this year on Tuesday, July 10th. It is an all day event starting at 10.00am and finishing around 4.30pm. Warm-ups are from 8.00am to 10.00am followed by an opening ceremony. The event is usually for some of our more experienced swimmers as all teams in the Herndon Swim League attend and as such we are limited to 2 swimmers from each age group per event. There are no 6&U events. All strokes are swum broken into 3 sessions. Session 1 (Free and Back) starts at 10.10am, session 2 (Breast and Fly) at 1.40pm and session 3 at 3.20pm (all relays).
The entry process is different to our regular meets. I will enter your swimmer in the events they qualify for based times in their age group. All parents need to do is to indicate if swimmers are available for the meet. There are no late entries for this meet. Please select attend or decline by noon on July 3rd.
Josh Davis and Elizabeth Beisel, both Olympians and US record holders are present at the meet to talk with athletes and present medals to the top 16. We have done very well in the past and I am sure we will do so again this year. It is a very exciting event and you do not have to be there all day! Please email me if you are not sure what to do.
