All League Meet Information - Please Read if Attending
Hi everyone!
This is a lot of information, so I apologize. The meet is held at Four Seasons.
Weather and Parking
It is supposed to be a high of 71 degrees with periods of rain tomorrow. Bring extra towels and warm clothes. We will have the meet even if it is raining unless it is heavy rain or thundering. If it is raining, we have been told by the league that we will not be allowed to park on the grass. They did not give alternative parking suggestions, but I am guessing that means in surrounding neighborhoods or in the Giant parking lot. Parking is only allowed in the paved lot if you have a parking pass. Don't park in the townhouse neighborhoods - cars will be immediately towed.
Other Items To Bring
Rain gear (especially if you are working a pool-side shift), sunscreen (just in case?), and bug spray. If anyone has some extra cardboard boxes, could you bring those to lay down as a path where it gets boggy behind the pine trees? It is messy on a nice day. There will be concessions, but feel free to bring snacks. We will have lots of water bottles, Gatorade, and a few Coke Zeros left from last night's party that will be available for all.
Timing and Order of Events
Our warm-up time is 7:25-7:35 am (Lanes 3 and 4). Please be earlier than that so you can be in the pool at 7:25 am. The meet will start promptly at 8 am. Order of Events: IM, Backstroke, Breaststroke, BREAK, Relay, Butterfly, Freestyle. The break is estimated to happen around 11:30 am, but it will depend upon how fast/slow the meet runs. You can view the events numbers here: https://hsl.swimtopia.com/all-league-meets#volunt...
Volunteers for the Meet
If you are a volunteer for the first half of the meet, you need to check in at the Officials Check-in/Scorers Table between 7:15 and 7:30 am. If you are timing, please bring your timer. If you are a second-half volunteer, please arrive between 11 and 11:15 am and check-in at the Officials Table. You can also check with a friend to see how fast the meet is progressing and may be able to come later, however, we need you to be here no later than the Break so the second half of the meet can start on time. See end of email if you have a question about your volunteer assignment.
Portable Toliets
The league has asked us to take care of the portable toilets and treat them as if they were your bathroom at home. Clean up after yourself so they are not disgusting part way through the meet (or any more disgusting :).
If you have any questions, my cell is 703-599-9200. See you tomorrow - Go Kahunas!
