Hi everyone!

This year's Officials Clinics for the Herndon Swim League will be held at the Herndon Community Center at 7 pm this Wednesday, June 7, and again at 7 pm on next Monday, June 12.  The Officials Clinic is for parents that want to learn how to be stroke and turn judges and referees, as well as find out more information about being a starter.  We really need parents to be trained in these areas so that we are not relying on just one or two people (and we can't run a meet without these officials).  Please consider going to one of the trainings - even if you are new to the swim team, it will help you understand the strokes and how a meet is run.  We can then pair you up with an experienced judge/referee/starter, so you can have on-the-job training to ensure you are comfortable with the role.  

The instructor, Jim, goes over each stroke and the rules associated with that stroke using the USS training video.  He also covers many scenarios of things that can happen at a swim meet that may require the decision of a referee.
